LISA WILLIAMSON ROSENBERG

Lisa Williamson Rosenberg is the author of two novels, EMBERS ON THE WIND (Little A, 8/2022) and MIRROR ME (Little A, 12/1/2024). She is also a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in developmental trauma and racial identity. Lisa is a former ballet dancer, who performed with Boston Ballet II, the Pacific Northwest, and the Pennsylvania Ballet companies. A Pushcart Prize nominee, Lisa’s short fiction has appeared in Literary Mama and The Piltdown Review; her essays, in Literary Hub, Longreads, The Common, Writers Digest, BookTrib, and Narratively, where her essay Black Girl Blue Leotard was awarded the 2024 Memoir Grand Prize. Lisa was a StoryStudio Chicago 2025 StoryBoard Conference Fellow in Nonfiction. A born-and-raised New Yorker, Lisa now lives in Montclair, New Jersey with her husband and goldendoodle. 

Lisa studied Short Fiction with Mary Morris (Princeton University, Spring 1985); Creative Non-fiction with Lisa Romeo (The Writer's Circle, Fall 2012); The Novel Continuum with Jennifer Walkup (The Writer's Circle, Winter-Spring, 2014); Long Form Nonfiction with Sari Botton (Catapult, 7/2018). Lisa has also participated in the Novel Writing Retreat at Vermont College of Fine Arts with Connie May Fowler (6/2023); StoryStudio Chicago’s Memoir-in-a-Year cohort with Gayle Brandeis (10/23-10/24): the Inkblossom Novel Retreat with Connie May Fowler (6/25); and StoryStudio Chicago’s StoryBoard Conference 2025 with Deesha Philyaw (fiction) and Hugh Ryan (nonfiction).
